Gooseberry Field is a luxury glamping site with eight stylish bell tents, a wood-fired hot tub and pizza oven all nestled in the village of Pluckley in the heart of Kent. Owned by Kerstin and John who dreamed of escaping hectic city living in favour of a simpler, more relaxed way of life with eggs from their own chickens, vegetables fresh from the garden and open fires under a starry night sky. It was in 2013 along with their young son Jenson they finally took the plunge and thus Gooseberry Field was born.

"When we lived in London we found it difficult to find places close by where we could escape for a weekend away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Somewhere we could unplug and relax with a nice bottle of wine and a cosy campfire in the great outdoors.

That was when the idea started to open up our own business in the beautiful countryside of Kent, providing the things we were looking for but at a fair price and close enough to London to avoid long car journeys and hours stuck in traffic.”   (Kerstin & John)

Surrounded by rolling hills, quaint villages, pretty woodlands and only 39 minutes by train from St Pancras / one hour drive from central London, Gooseberry Field Glamping is perfect for that weekend away or mid-week break. Located between Ashford, Canterbury and Maidstone we are also only a short distance from several great tourist attractions and numerous local footpaths and bridle-ways which are ideal for a short family stroll or more adventurous walkers and hikers.

The campsite itself sits within a five-acre smallholding with eight beautifully decorated canvas bell tents and two hot tubs of which one a private hot tub,  on the outskirts of the haunted village of Pluckley and was once an ancient apple orchard. Many of the original apple trees have gone but John and Kerstin have replanted over a hundred heritage trees and have reorganised the land with fruit trees and bushes, wild flower meadows, vegetable gardens and a vineyard.

Here at Gooseberry Field Glamping we’ve taken the hard work out of camping whilst also adding some luxury home comforts such as warm duvets, Egyptian 100% cotton bed linen, pillows, comfy futon beds, soft furnishings and all the cutlery and cooking equipment / utensils needed to cook up a perfect campfire feast.

So why not get away from it all, unplug, relax, reconnect with friends, family and even yourself and join us for a few days of luxury camping at Gooseberry Field Glamping in Kent.
