Gooseberry Field Glamping covers five acres of beautiful Kent Countryside with southfacing views (and sunsets) extending for miles over the haunted Dering Woods of Pluckley.
The glamping field itself is surrounded by old established hedgerow and 200 year old Oak trees giving a feeling of cosy security.
Our guests with young children often comment that its lovely to be able to relax and let their children roam free around our field knowing they are safely enclosed within its boundaries.
The camping meadow itself includes our glamping bell tents, each with its own picnic area and fire pit, plus our wood-fired hot tub and a central fire pit that is often used when the site is booked on an excusive base by a group.
On the left hand side you will find the pigfield and vineyard and on the right a brand new planted orchard with apple, pear and plum trees.
At the end of the track you will find the food terrace. It is the heart of the glamping field where our guests can relax with a glass of wine or use the BBQs, our wood-fired oven,(saturday is pizza night) or our traditional hot smoker to prepare their food. Seasonal ingredients from our smallholding vegetable garden and eggs collected from our chickens are available for all to use in their cooking.
Next to the terrace is our facilities block with spacious hot showers roomy enough for an adult and two children.
Relaxing time in the hot tub is often described as one of the highlights of our guests glamping break. For weekend breaks it can be used on the Saturday afternoon and early evening and if you have booked a three night stay then it's also open on the Sunday. The hot tub woodfired and simply devine! Not far from the hot tub you can find our central fire pit, often used when we host an exclusive group booking.
The wood fired pizza oven is normally lit every weekend, usually on the Saturday night. Our guests are free to join into the pizza baking fun and there's always a lot of mingling, sharing food and chatting going on and some friendships have even started on those evenings! Don't worry about burning your pizza as we will be there to manage the oven. In 2018 we have installed a state of the art Argentinian grill with shelter, if you are into your cooking and bbq then this could be right up your street. At the side of the terrace a small herb garden can be found, it's often used for cooking but occasionally for cocktail making as well!
The 5 acre field with the luxury glamping bell tents dotted around is a lovely big space to roam around freely and safely and it has amzing views onto the Kent country side. Go and explore and you will find fruit bushes, a vineyard, a mini orchard & meadow, a chicken coop, a vegetable garden, a pig field and from 2019 we even have a mini bike track.
Often the highlight of the day, children are allowed to check for eggs (if accompagnied by an adult). At the end of our 5 acre glamping site you will find the pig field. We keep rare breed - Berkshire - pigs and we feed them twice a day and involve anybody who's interested! They are a very friendly bunch.
At Gooseberry Field Glamping we know how important facilities are to our guests and pride ourselves on clean facilities. After all what's the point of glamping when the facilities aren't glam? Our facilites include two spacious showers, both have ample room for a parent and two children without having to worry how to keep clothes dry. There is one flushing loo and and in the field there's another eco composting toilet. We check several times a day to ensure everything is pristine and in tip top condition!
The Barn is our former workshop, some of our previous guests might remember the tractor used to be parked in here, but in 2018 we have transformed it into a beautiful space with lots of atmosphere, so our glamping guests have a sheltered space to go in case of rain.
